Terms of service
Draft, last updated 2026-10-26. Not yet reviewed; pending review before launch.
By using TestersGuild you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose. This page is a draft that has not been reviewed.
What the service is
TestersGuild groups 16 Android apps into a 16-day cohort in which members test each other’s apps. It is not open to the public yet.
Credit
- Credit is a virtual balance inside TestersGuild. It is not money and not earnings. It cannot be withdrawn, sent to anyone or exchanged for cash.
- You are given $15.00 once per account and package, when your first app passes the setup check. Further credit can be bought through Google Play.
- Joining a cohort locks a $15.00 stake. It is returned as credit when you finish. A missed day costs $1.00; after 3 misses you are removed and the rest of the stake is forfeited. Leaving or failing to install can forfeit part of it, as the cost table on the site shows.
- Forfeited credit stays with TestersGuild.
- Purchases are made through Google Play and follow Google Play’s own terms. If a purchase is refunded or reversed, we take back the credit it gave, and credit you already spent becomes a debt that must be repaid before you can lock a new stake. Refunds are decided by Google Play under its rules; we do not refund separately.
Your part
Use the apps you are assigned, write honest feedback, do not fake installs or usage, and use one account. We may remove accounts that break these rules.
The notes you write
- Notes you write about other members’ apps are content you create. They must be honest: say what you tried and what happened. Do not write what you did not do, and do not copy text.
- Notes must not contain abuse, insults, harassment, hate, threats, spam, advertising, links, or anyone’s personal details (yours or another person’s).
- The owner of the app reads your note without your name. They can report a note. An operator reads the report and may hide the note, warn you, or dismiss the report. Operators can see who wrote a reported note.
- Repeated or serious breaches can end your place in a cohort, with the stake forfeited as for any removal, or your account.
- You keep the rights to your notes. You allow us to show them to the app’s owner and to include them in the report that owner receives, and, anonymously, to operators who review them. You give us only the licence needed for this; it ends when the note is deleted or your account is.
- If you receive a note that breaks these rules, report it from the note in the app. Mail us at hello@testersguild.dev if you cannot.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app (Profile, then Delete my account) or by email, as described on the delete your account page. Deleting while your cohort is running costs the whole stake, because other members depend on you. Credit has no cash value and is discarded with the account. We keep the records listed on that page, which do not carry your name.
What we do not promise
We do not promise that Google will approve your app, accept your testers or treat tester exchanges in any particular way. Google’s rules are Google’s. Check its help page. TestersGuild is not affiliated with Google.
